Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: June 11, 2026

1. Scope and accountability

This policy explains how Rainwater Management Ltd. ("we", "us") handles personal information collected through rainwatermanagement.ca. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), as they apply to where you and your project are located.

We have designated a Privacy Officer who is responsible for our compliance with these laws and who can answer questions about our privacy practices, including our use of service providers outside Canada. The Privacy Officer can be reached at info@rainwatermanagement.ca.

2. What we collect

We collect information you choose to give us when you:

  • Submit a sizing request — your name, email, phone number, company, and project details (project name, location, site parameters used for the calculation).
  • Use the contact form — your name, email, company, and message.
  • Email or call us — whatever you include in that correspondence.

We also collect limited technical data automatically — IP address, browser type, and pages visited — through the analytics and security services listed below.

3. How we use it

  • To process sizing requests: run the calculation, prepare the sizing report, and email it to you.
  • To respond to inquiries and prepare quotes you request.
  • To keep a record of past projects and requests so we can support you on follow-up work.
  • To protect the site from spam and abuse.
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Service providers we use

The website runs on infrastructure operated by service providers that process data on our behalf:

  • Vercel — website hosting and basic site analytics.
  • Supabase — secure storage of sizing requests and the reports we generate for you.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email (sizing reports, quote and contact responses).
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — spam protection on our forms (processes technical browser signals; no tracking cookies).
  • Google Analytics — aggregate website usage statistics (uses cookies; see section 5).
  • Sentry — error monitoring, which may capture technical request details when something on the site breaks.

Some of these providers store or process data on servers in the United States. We use them to host the website, store and deliver the sizing reports and correspondence described above, protect the site from abuse, and measure aggregate usage. Personal information processed outside Canada is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, and foreign courts or authorities may be able to access it under those laws. Questions about our use of service providers outside Canada can be directed to our Privacy Officer at the address in section 1.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics cookies to measure aggregate site usage (pages visited, approximate location, device type). You can block these in your browser settings or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on; the site works fully without them. Signing in to the administrative dashboard sets an authentication cookie that is strictly necessary for that function.

6. Retention

We keep sizing requests, the reports generated from them, and related correspondence for as long as they are useful for supporting your projects and meeting our business and legal record-keeping obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 8).

7. Email and CASL

We send email you ask for — sizing reports, quotes, and replies to your inquiries. Consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we only send commercial electronic messages with your express or implied consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by replying or contacting us at the address below.

8. Your rights

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. Contact info@rainwatermanagement.ca and we will respond within the timelines required by PIPA and PIPEDA. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

9. Security and breach notification

Form submissions and stored data are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to submitted information is limited to Rainwater Management staff through an authenticated dashboard. No internet transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.

If a breach of our safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and report the breach to the appropriate Privacy Commissioner as required by PIPEDA and Alberta's PIPA, and we keep records of security incidents affecting personal information.

10. Changes and contact

When this policy changes we will update the "Last updated" date above. Questions about privacy: info@rainwatermanagement.ca
